DNS issues causing downtime

Posted by Eric March on Jun 17, 2009 in Uncategorized

I don’t know what the hell happened, but somehow the DNS servers for frapstr.com reverted to my registrar’s domain servers.  I don’t know how it happened or why, but the result was that Frapstr has been practically unreachable for the last day or so. I reset the DNS to my web host’s servers last night, but at the time of this writing (7:10am on Wednesday) the changes have still not fully propagated.  Hopefully this will sort itself out by the evening and Frapstr will be back and fully operational.  When I’ve got another $10 bucks to spare I’m going to transfer the domain to my web host for better reliability.  (Transferring a domain requires a year extension on the domain name, per ICAAN rules.)

Sorry ’bout the downtime folks, but by the time you read this it will all probably be sorted out good and proper.  In the mean time I’ve got to head off to work.
